Fuel Filler Fix - solution found and engineered

My fix was to pull the filler pipe, as described many times in this forum, then re-assemble the flapper and run a #8 screw through the plastic hinge and into the pipe. This prevents the flapper assembly from dismantling itself again when a gas hose nozzle bumps into it. I did this fix about five...

Replacing Turn Signal Lamp in Left (Driver Side) Front Headlight Assembly

So, 3 Hollywood action stars decided to go classy and make movies about classical musicians: Stallone did a bio of Mozart, Norris made a documentary on Beethoven. Arnie said, “I’ll be Bach”. Thanks, I’m here every night through Thursday......

Replacing Turn Signal Lamp in Left (Driver Side) Front Headlight Assembly

After 52,000 miles my front passenger turn signal went out on the way back from the Hill Country. I searched the forum and saw that it’s a big job involving pulling the fender liner (which I’ve done before when fixing the fuel flap). However, I also read about the ole’ “thump it a few times”...

What have you done with your new Ford GT?

Per several sources, the Hawaiin shirt is the uniform of bitter retired white Trump supporters, so that fits the bill.

700 mile update on 0098 - AJB Liquid Blue

Use search and you’ll find an extract from the manual on oil change procedure. No seals required. The process is much easier than on the 05/06 cars; a lot fewer belly pan screws plus an oil filter design that doesn’t puke oil everywhere when you remove it.

    Bring a trailer?

I was going to list my McLaren with them last year. It was a long process with lots of back and forth, almost as if BAT was ‘vetting’ my car to decide whether to accept. I sold the 12c privately before the BAT listing went live, and they were fine about pulling the ad at the last minute.

WTB billet seat inserts, either yours or somebody else's, used or new

First thing I did to my car when I bought it years ago - hot buttons and billet seat inserts. The inserts are fantastic quality, well worth the price. Some nameless forum cheapskates just took the plastic inserts off and painted them silver.

What is KIT # written on body panel?

I think the 580 refers to the maximum miles you’ll ever put on your car because you’re too busy looking at it

Heritage at Summer Mecum? Any info?

I’ve bid on several cars on BAT but never won. That two minute re-bid allowance usually pushes the final price up significantly, and it’s always gone beyond my budget. Oh well.

    Jim Hackett stepping down

Being from the furniture industry, Hackett brought to Ford some of Ikea’s philosophy - ‘some assembly required’. Ford has got eaten up by warranty claims since he stepped in.

    OIL LEAK

Did you recently have an oil change? That could account for the pool of oil - almost impossible to change the filter without a little dripping down exactly where your picture shows. Otherwise, my bet is bad filter o-ring or cracked filter housing

    Fuel gauge troubleshoot

You probably already know this but, before actually cranking the starter, let all gauges complete their initializing sweep around the dials.

Sweet GT loves 100 Octane Racing fuel

I used octane booster in the Big Bend Road Race in West Texas where you can’t get 93. Do the research, some are good, some useless. The VP stuff is good, Royal Purple Max works too

    How low can you go?

It’s one of the dumbest gauges on the planet: after tracking the car the computer continues to calculate remaining range based on track mpg, so even though the bar graph shows you having over half a tank the stupid dash is telling you its 40 miles or less to empty
