Just looking through BJ results for Vegas and came across this....seems like a good deal for a heritage

Wow, would have loved to have bought it Tony. Doesn't make sense that they sold a red/white stripes with 7,000 miles for the same price as yours $324,500 : https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/2005-FORD-GT-233828 Weird stuff happens at auctions sometimes.

Just looking through BJ results for Vegas and came across this....seems like a good deal for a heritage

Maybe I'm off, but this seems like a good deal for a heritage $324,500 which includes buyer premium for 4,900 mile GT. https://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/2006-FORD-GT-HERITAGE-EDITION-234099

    Opinion on this car appreciated

In correspondence, the seller's email had "Ford" in it. He reports that his family has owned a Ford dealership for around 60 years if I'm not mistaken. He reports this is his father's car and he is selling it for him. The seller was very pleasant on the phone and wanted to disclose all about the...

    Opinion on this car appreciated

Talking with owner and a few things just not adding up. Received a message from someone who looked into the car a bit when it was listed here and sounds like there may be more to it then a clam shell replacement. Apparently asking price was $225K, then was $250K, and now $259K.... thinking I'll...

    Opinion on this car appreciated

Looked in the "for sale" and didn't see it. Maybe I just missed it, but if you have a link, would be much appreciated. The seller has seemed honest and transparent and provided the invoices for the clam shell replacement....total of $30,000 to repair.

Would you happen to know if the thread is still around or how I might find it?

    Opinion on this car appreciated

Is the clam shell an exterior piece that is "numbered" to make a car numbers matching?

    Opinion on this car appreciated

This car fits what I'm after in regards to a car that I'll drive and price point. Just talked to the owner's son and learned that the owner's wife backed into the car in the driveway years ago and the rear clam shell was replaced. He said it arrived from Ford painted and ready to install. There...

1800 mile 2005 GT sold in Greensboro NC for $257,500 + commission

I do believe that some cars are better meant for auction, the GT not being one of them. Vintage Ferraris, vintage Astons, etc. Just look at the upcoming Monterey auctions that currently list 9, yes 9, GT's with Mecum listing 6 alone. I looked at the estimates and they seem high. I just can't...

1800 mile 2005 GT sold in Greensboro NC for $257,500 + commission

So if the seller was willing to settle for $236K, then I have trouble understanding why the seller didn't list the car privately at $250K (or even $245K for that matter), which seems like a steel to most buyers (Heck, somebody ponied up $278K, so???) and would likely be the cheapest listing...

1800 mile 2005 GT sold in Greensboro NC for $257,500 + commission

With 8% commission for seller that means he took home approx. $236,940 not including the cost to get the car to the auction. So: Seller: accepted approx. $236K or less once commission and transportation is figured in .... Not so great, but maybe realistic Buyer: paid $278K, which seems to be...

What do 2016 Monterey Results tell us????

You can not withdraw it once you sign it over. You, depending on the auction house, or someone else can bid on the car just as any other registered bidder and buy it yourself, but your paying all the commissions, etc. Commissions are higher if you place a reserve and some auction houses don't...

    Deal or No Deal?

Extremely important... But he has said the car will be ready numerous times. I told him of the other GT I had found, and he said this car was almost ready so I'd be safe to pass on it. I passed on it all in the name of keeping my word. That was 2 months ago, and that ship has sailed...

    Deal or No Deal?

Maybe I wasn't clear in my original post. I'm not concerned with depreciation and am not a speculator. I plan on driving the car. As an example I had a $100k+ restoration performed on on of my cars and when completed was asked if I was going to put it on the show circuit. My answer was...

    Deal or No Deal?

So a number of months ago I came across a '06 FGT 3-option with 12,000 miles out of Canada. Agreed to purchase at $250K. Paperwork hang-up has delayed the purchase. Now viewing the current market (included below is breakdown of Monterey I posted in another thread), not sure about...

What do 2016 Monterey Results tell us????

Two auctions weeks tend to set the tone for the year and market (Monterey Auction week and BJ Scottsdale) So what do we know from Monterey? 1. This is the second year in a row of an overall sales decline. ( Read more...

    2016 Pebble Beach Concours Week

Just decided I may make the trip. Won't be able to make it until Thursday evening, so will miss the Pebble Beach Concours Tour d'Elegance, which is really the best way to see the cars .... (actually see, hear, and smell them in motion....better than displayed on the lawn IMO). Does anyone...

    Backup Camera ...

Searched older threads, and unable to find any current info on backup cameras. Lots of different options on the market. Looking for recommendations. I'd like to keep it as simple as possible (non-invasive options) .... Heck, I'd like to see a small battery powered camera that clips to the...
