SORRY to hear that. I would get high quality swirl remover/polishing compound and try to remove any marks that can be polished out. I too have not been happy with my touch-up technique on other cars...but a pro shop may be able to do it (on a mirror as opposed to a panel).

I wanted one (Gulf heritage colors) because of the iconic 68/69 LeMans wins (plus I went to UofF). My wife did NOT like the colors and the associated premium $s inhibited me. Every time I used Google Images for Ford GT a tungsten grey with stripes showed up and when I saw it in person I knew...

I had two Buddies with red GTs (both with white stripes). I am not a "red sports car" fan...BUT the red is stunning in person.

I can imagine that low mileage GTs might not have a lot/any maintenance records (as they may not have required any). Even with 46,000 miles on my GT, the maintenance book/log is sparse.
