    Pruett and the GT

Yep, I am all too familiar with this general rule. Every sanctioning body seems to have it and exercise it more than I like. Look forward to seeing you as well, Rex! Scott

    Pruett and the GT

They need you on the marketing and management team. Apparently somebody didn't get the memo on sandbagging and politics prior to BoP, which is intended to "equalize" all...unfortunately the rules are nothing like 1966

    Pruett and the GT

Skids Pretty sure those are skids like on most real race cars. A wearable and replaceable item. Definitely not plywood. They can be of many different materials (jabrock, aluminum, and CF sometimes) for weight, weight distribution, friction, strength/stiffness and durability. The bottom of the...

    Ahlman Engineering Ohlins Coil-Overs

You can adjust from stock height (like Jeff and Ralphie) to ~1" lower. Scott

Love the pic, Ralphie, of the RT-1 package vs stock. Glad to do it.

    Ahlman Engineering Ohlins Coil-Overs

Hey Rex, Mark and I tested all four configurations I sell for maximum handling and ride. The four configurations involve springs and damper settings. The two-way shocks allow low speed adjustment the same as the low speed adjustment on the four-way shocks, but with less clicks (more fine...

    Ahlman Engineering Ohlins Coil-Overs

Hi All, Thank you to everyone who has purchased my coil-overs for their Ford GT. I am posting to give the FGT Forum a heads up that my coil-over pricing will increase 15% on August 1, 2015. Therefore, anyone wanting to purchase them before the price increase should contact me with their order...

    FGT Weather Sensitivity

Steve, no problem. Understood on temps. Yes, use taller gears on hot days. Hope it is cool at COTA and the new coil-overs work well. Looks like an awesome track. Scott

    FGT Weather Sensitivity

Glad its a help. 10-4 on water injection. I am sorry, I don't have the detail intake temp data for you. Scott

    FGT Weather Sensitivity

Ed, I think it would be great and seems like it should fit, but we would have to look at vibration modes and make sure the flat plane crank modes don't line up with other chassis, subsystem and part modes. The wrong modes lining up could cause early failures. Do you know of a good donor car for...

    FGT Weather Sensitivity

Hi Tony, Leveraging the FGT work, especially powertrain was SVT's intent, but I do not have first hand knowledge of the level of transfer to the GT500. I was not involved on the project and did not keep tabs on it. Mark McGowan may know. Scott

    FGT Weather Sensitivity

Thanks AJB, Indy and Vince. For sure there were multiple good reasons for choosing the FGT engine vs alternatives including what is noted by Xcentric and Nota4re. Yes, lots of experience with the supercharged engines and little with turbo charging at Ford North America, at the time. Well...

    FGT Weather Sensitivity

The following is intended to give some background on my comments regarding the FGT air temperature sensitivity in the OEM tire article. I have tried not to get too technical here, but show some fundamentals on the differences causing the FGT to be more weather sensitive than turbocharged (or...

Goodyear tires and the 2005 Ford GT

Yes, as Indy noted, we went deep into the alphabet a second time...at both ends of the car. That is a lot of tires. Scott

Goodyear tires and the 2005 Ford GT

I will work to answer this coming weekend. I meant S/C versus naturally aspirated, but S/C's also tend to be more sensitive to ambient air temp than turbo charged engines as well. Will try to write a balance of practical and theory. And yes, a few doing big mods to their engines have discussed...

What to call the new GT

I believe Ford said the exterior/body was 95% production ready. The FGT was very similar in exterior readiness when Ford said "go" and yet the roof had to go up 2" and the windows wouldn't roll down. We had to engineer everything under the skin and modify the exterior as little as possible...

What to call the new GT

GT-E/GTE is a good suggestion, but DBK's vote for PHX seems most appropriate (project name, simple and differentiated) for the car...especially since it is a concept at this point. Just my 2 cents.
