Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner BAD...."squealing banshee". ?

In reality, not very often. I changed mine after 15 years and 20,000 miles. They seemed fine. However, if the front of engine is being worked on and the cabin access hole is open, change all three. Most engines run over 100,000 miles with the original belts.

Canisters are fairly generic. Someone should be able to adapt one over. Good luck. Keep us posted on results.

Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner BAD...."squealing banshee". ?

This is from one of my posts a few years ago. Maybe it will be helpful. - The oil pump belt cover is held with the same style screws used extensively throughout the car. These cover screws are a PIA to remove and install. I had to remove some through the cabin engine cover and some from the...

Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner BAD...."squealing banshee". ?

It was easier because your selection of sockets is much better to match up to the limited space. I seem to remember using a 1/4 inch socket to turn the screws. The socket also instantly fits onto the hex head.

I replaced mine with hex head bolts. Far, far easier. Much, much easier. Oh and by far, much easier.

This might help. You can see the part number trend. The 10 means 10 rib, 6 means 6 rib. The last four numbers are inches 0884 = 88.4. 4G7Z-8620-AA Belt, Supercharger 48.00 4G7Z-8620-AA Belt, Supercharger Dayco 5100883, AC Delco Heavy Duty K100884HD 4G7Z-8620-AA Belt, Supercharger...

Accessory Drive Belt Tensioner BAD...."squealing banshee". ?

Based on your test, sounds like belt slippage squeal. A couple of things can cause that. The belt V ribs wear out causing it to slip. Or, the belt tensioner is near it's end of adjustment range. Or, an old hard belt. Or, possibly a combination of all three. All are cured with a new belt as...

    2006 EGR valve availability

I have a pretty long list of common parts that I have developed since I have been on the forum. Not as long as some others, I am sure. I would list it here, but I don't know where??? I have seen excel spreadsheets on other forums. It could be available for anyone to access and update. Only...

    2006 EGR valve availability

Yeah - the EGR valve seems like it should have been an off the shelf already designed for some other car type of part.

    Pulley question

I did mine by-my-self with the clamshell on. I placed double harbor freight moving blankets on everything. I carefully considered removing the clamshell. Two issues, takes at least two people. And having anything stored on the floor risks damage. If i was to have a second person over to...

    2005-06 bumper delete... not necessary?

If you are vacillating back and forth, it is not worth the money or hassle to change out. If you really thought it looked great w/o then go for it.

    Wheel creaking issue

I don't have a NGT just a GT. So, I have no driving need to see StormCat or Derry's nuts on display for all to see. Although, if they do display them, I will look, just to see what they look like. BTW, my nuts work fine.
