Got an e...
Lost one of my fuel door rubber bumpers.
The complete cap assembly, part # 5G7Z-63405A26-AA comes with new bumpers, but all I need is a rubber bumper.
Anyone ever find a Ford part # or generic substitution for them?
You sure it's not coming from the relay box box under the hood? That's where the A/C relay is. Is the A/C blowing cold? Maybe a low borderline charge keeps the relay trying on and off to engage the compressor clutch.
Yes, I will save my old smart junction box. Hopefully, in the future, they...
Just to update everyone, the new Smart Junction Box arrived and has been installed. Quite an unpleasant job while lying upside down under the passenger side dash !
Anyway, Success ! My tail light finally went off. Wish I knew what really failed inside the smart junction box. Maybe someday...
Yes, i ground down the paint around the cable ring, and even added another ground wire to the battery. New oddessy battery in place with proper voltage output.
Did that...changed relays....no luck. Traced all the wiring at every connector up to the smart junction box...don't know what else it could be besides the smart junction box.
Oh no. Start with obvious first, battery condition, battery ground cable where it meets the frame etc.
In my case, I am waiting on a new smart junction box.
Well, the issue is there is voltage going through harness back to left tailight when the car is off. The rear tailights are LED and have no traditional bulbs.
yes, tested/cleaned all the grounds. Light socket ground OK ..just has voltage coming from left turn signal feed and bulb failure feed. Looking more and more like a smart junction box circuit board or other internal failure.
Yes. First of all,the hazards do have power with the car off. I tried turning on and off the hazard switch a bunch of times to see if that would change things, but no luck.
As a quck update, so far, pins C and E both show voltage on the left tailight plug. Not enough to light up test light, but enough to show on multi meter. I will keep following your charts. I also am wondering if the turn signal switch may be causing issue but it seems to function normally...
Today I removed the smart junction box far enough to swap out the parking lamp relay using a mirror etc to access the back side. As a bonus, my hands are nice and bloody now.
Ugghh. Same problem, no change.
It seems to be a dim version of the parking light that stays on. All other lights work normally, and when car is running, all lights, hazards, brake lights etc work normally. When I pull fuse number 18 from the smart junction box, the light goes out.
