3.90 ring and pinion (available again)

There are several old threads from when the 3.90 gears were first made by Stillen, LOTS of positive feedback from folks who experienced the mod. FYI for some reason, the forum doesn't always sort posts in the correct order within old threads, but the content is still all there...

What would you be looking to buy next?

In case other folks are thinking about an NSX, here's a chart I did of 2020 sales on BringaTrailer. I did this a few weeks ago, so I'm sure there have been a couple sold since then. The prices do not include the 5% BaT buyer's fee (capped at $5K max). .

What would you be looking to buy next?

Yeah, probably technically too nice to drive, but I am going to drive it anyway. I guess I'll put clear film on the front, mirrors, etc. I bid on a couple on BringaTrailer, but found this one by posting "WTB silver NSX, black interior, manual, targa, never wrecked, low miles" on the NSX forum...

    Doc Fee?

In some states, dealers must impose the exact same doc fee (that they set) to every single sale. So in those states, while you might negotiate a lower selling price, the dealer literally can not legally delete the doc fee.

What would you be looking to buy next?

The previous owner put the Zanardi springs on the car, which lower the car about 1/2". As such, I'll probably put the Bilsteins on the top perch. It's got an aftermarket exhaust on it, not sure if I'll keep that on or not, we'll see what my ears say after the first trip. The car did come with...

Looking for 05' or 06' with miles

60k miles is only 4k per year, pretty low really! https://www.fordgtforum.com/forums/threads/need-pricing-help-on-selling-my-05.37440/

What would you be looking to buy next?

Found a 2005 (that's the final year) with only 15k miles- this thing is mint! As an example, the owner actually put a leather steering wheel cover OVER the leather steering wheel to protect it! (I removed that lol.) Just ordered a set of Bilsteins, and new AS4 Michelins- that's the oem tire for...

3.90 ring and pinion (available again)

Uh, sorry. It’s just that IMHO the gearing for this car was chosen to optimize the numbers (by having a zero-shift 0-to-60 and a 2-shift 1/4 mile) rather than optimize the driving. I don’t blame them for doing it that way, because numbers sell cars. All manual tranny performance cars had...

3.90 ring and pinion (available again)

Instead of celebrating the availability of the gearing the car should have come with (except for no-shift 0-to-60 times for car magazines), some of you seem to be——criticizing it? Anytime someone broadens the availability of custom parts for these cars we should be thanking him, whether that...

Nylon push-in pins in front of trunk liner?

OK here's some more info and a theory. The one with holes was dated 3/06, the new one dated 6/06. But other folks have posted that both 05 and 06 cars can either have the pins or not have the pins. My theory: This is a big part molded out of a flexible plastic. Some of the parts came out of...

Nylon push-in pins in front of trunk liner?

The pins are inserted from the inside of the trunk, and are a press fit through steel washers about 1” diameter on the outside of the liner. So the nylon pins are fixed in place and protrude out of the front of the liner. My guess is that the pins locate the liner in the car by the pins...
