Looking for power steering hose 05/06 GT

Hey Pete, did you get a chance to look at the hose from underneath? Don't get me wrong, I too didn't appreciate "the sky is falling" rant on these hoses and I think that for whatever reason, there are still cars out there where they seem to be fine. However, when the DO start showing signs of...

Looking for power steering hose 05/06 GT

Thanks for the question. More than one place was selling those - and promoting them quite hard as I recall and then radio silence when the problems began. We never purchased one of those, we were never interested to carry them, and we never installed one. My understanding was the same as...

Looking for power steering hose 05/06 GT

OK, so below you can see a couple of pictures of the replacement power steering line return hose. This is the hose that after almost 20 years exposed to power steering fluid, it is deteriorating from the inside out. Fortunately, the pressure line in our experience shows absolutely no signs of...

New Member looking for advice about parts for 05 GT

Right Side Headlight - Good luck. Best to keep watching this forum to seen when and if replacements become available. Silver Seat Inserts - Originally made by Exoticare in Canada. Allegedly he is contemplating another run. Again, watch this space. Steering Wheel Emblem - Yours can be sent out...

Looking for power steering hose 05/06 GT

Yes, we'll have them available on the web page before the end of the week. As mentioned, we have been installing on local cars when needed. Nearly all of the GT's that we see will show signs of this stock line deteriorating (from the inside). Typical first symptoms is that the line becomes...

Looking for power steering hose 05/06 GT

Sure. PM me your address. I can send one to you either today or at the latest, tomorrow. Submoose - thanks to post pictures. I'd recommend that you change out that clamp when you have the opportunity. See how the slots in the clamp band are biting into the hose? Over time, that may be a...

    Check your vacuum lines

Great that you got some good advice and the ECU was trying to help you as well. Lean condition as reported by O2 sensor(s) is most often un-metered air coming into the engine. The ECU can't make any sense of it... the Mass Air Flow (MAF) tells it how much air is being ingested and then pulse...

Health Forces Sale! 2006 Tungsten GT, Just 5,500 Miles. Only the Best Mods. 750hp. Never Abused. All 4 Options.

Yes, I would say 4-5ish weeks from first contact to sale was about the same for mine... but then after the auction ended it took another 2-3ish weeks before car was picked up. In my last case (just a couple of weeks ago) the buyer tried to use their escrow-like purchase process but was unable...

Health Forces Sale! 2006 Tungsten GT, Just 5,500 Miles. Only the Best Mods. 750hp. Never Abused. All 4 Options.

I've sold a couple of vehicles on BaT and while they do many things well, they are ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC when it comes to speed. No process within BaT has any sense of urgency and, in fact, I really believe that many employees are content in kicking the can down the road. The lack of urgency...

    Clutch issues

As others have said, the issue is caused because the clutch fluid boiled. Fresh clutch fluid - especially if you use a high temp fluid, should really help to mitigate the occurrence. A transaxle cooler will also really help. The transaxles run at a very high temp anyway and when you put any...

    Check those Rear Axle Nuts

We've had a pretty constant flow of GT's through the shop in the last few months. We are starting to routinely check the torque of the rear axle nuts and we are finding that at least 1 in 5 cars has either one or both rear nuts starting to loosen. That's a lot and warrants the creation of this...

    What is this

Yes, positively, any car with the clips will have the billet a-arms.

    What is this

Neither an integrity or a panel fit issue but rather a "rule" inside Ford at the time that any visible body seam had to be covered. I think the first 500 or so 2005's had these before common sense said that the band-aid looked worse than the exposed seam.

    Exhaust Issue

If you take that exhaust and set it on an absolutely flat table, both flanges need to sit down absolutely flat against the table. If it is not doing this, then it has been fabricated incorrectly. Another, perhaps more telling test, is to take a GT stock muffler and place it on two saw horses...

Seeking 05 or 06 Ford GT

Yeah, I second sr71's suggestion. Don't shy away from a higher mileage car - especially in the hands of a 1-caring-owner's hands. The blue car was very well cared for and it shows that!

    MAF code

Yeah, but the GT has another trick up its sleeve! Many years ago we got a GT in the shop with a somewhat catastrophic Whipple failure. Catastrophic insofar that a bearing failure allowed the SC's rotors to come into contact and create a lot of metal particles - right into the intake.... or...
