    Service tech in San Diego

KilterGT - I believe it was you that reached out to us via email regarding an AC issue. We are about 60 days our from completing our new (much larger) shop for GT work, but we have been servicing a couple of GT's who have "urgent " issues. In short, from our experience a non-functioning AC is...

    Axle Shaft Bolts

The OEM kit and the Accufab kit will both get the job done. Not sure we prefer one over the other - but the Accufab kit uses a different (6) outer bolts which makes it easy to see the upgrade has been done but for the pure fanatics, they do represent a difference from original. The OEM kits...

    Up & right during acceleration...

I agree with my esteemed colleagues here. First, I would have checked the air pressures in the rear tires (which you did). Next, I would suspect the rear toe links. It may require more than a visual inspection, however, because I think the boots will look bad no matter what, but the link...

    Looking for halfshaft

We were able to put eyes on the car with the "failed half-shaft" for the first time yesterday evening. A very curious failure.... The outer 6 bolts that secure the half-shaft to the flange on the transaxle failed. The first inspection looks like the bolts sheared off. I'm not sure yet if...

    '05 AC dead

The GT has a low pressure switch so that when the charge level gets low, it won't even cycle on the compressor. As such, you could have been dropping pressure a tad each year and then finally fell below this threshold. I would recommend charging it. One of the most common places they will...

Updates on your 2005-2006 Ford GT, What have you done lately?

Yes, ALL GT's utilize a small shoe at the bottom of the battery to hold it in firmly. There are often not installed correctly.

Kansas broke my Autometer vacuum gauge

The ECU has no control over boost. Unlike a turbo where wastegates can be controlled to divert exhaust flow driving the turbo(s), a supercharged engine is purely mechanical... more pulley speed = more boost.

    Looking for halfshaft

Anyone have a halfshaft for sale? Need one for a car that suffered an axle bolt failure and subsequently beat the s$&T out of the halfshaft. OEM is great but if anyone knows of someone making an aftermarket one, that might work too. Allegedly Ford is out of stock with no ETA.

    Carfax repot question

Yeah, IMO there is no rational reason why a Canadian car should be any less desirable than a US car. The bumper was spaced out with spacers which are trivial to remove. The exhaust is the same as US cars. Always-on headlights (Canada requirement) is not difficult to convert back to US spec.

    Muffler weld-Panel screws location help

Hi Sam, The machine screws/nuts hold the center painted panel in place. There is a small L-bracket on each of the bumper frame horns just rearward of the edge of the heat shielding. There's a hole in this L- bracket and the hardware attaches it to a corresponding hole on the painted panel...

New Owners: Insure Axle Bolt Upgrade has been Performed!

Either kit will work fine. There is absolutely no need to wire the bolts. We have installed dozens of the kits and have never experienced any problems. It's not a difficult job to do yourself - and I would really recommend you to consider. It is doubtful that the GT is your daily driver, so...
