    Expensive Oil Change Question

Figure closer to $400 if you were going to have us do it. For labor, it's probably closer to two hours than it is to one from the time we roll the car onto the lift to the time it rolls off. Need to remove both the mid-pan as well as the rear pan. Often we'll find missing or incorrect...

LOOKING FOR GAUGE MODULE TO SUIT OUR 2005 GT

Frank's thinking of the gauge itself which Autometer still makes... but no one is making the gauge control module... unfortunately. Have you tried replacing the gauge? It is very unusual that the gauge control module would fail whereas it is not uncommon to have a gauge fail.

Looking for power steering hose 05/06 GT

Yes, I meant to reference Post #5. (I corrected it.) I couldn't care less if owners choose to buy our solution or not. Like I said originally, we have been installing them on cars for a few months now and it is just a damn return line... far from rocket science. I had (erroneously) thought...

Looking for power steering hose 05/06 GT

I am sorry to say that I don't believe the hard line solution referenced in this thread is viable and we wouldn't recommend or install it because of two design challenges - the first of which is critical. Assuming the pictures on the website are an accurate representation of the product being...

    A/C Compressor

Yeah, Pete, virtually every GT coming through here these days is in need of a little more refrigerant. Completely normal after 20 years! Frequent cycling of the AC clutch is an easy and conclusive "tell". For all owners - please try to exercise your AC a little bit each time you run your car...

    A/C Compressor

With a tad more research, I think that's a good part number for the o-rings needed... also called Motorcraft YF2963. (A/C Line O-Ring; Green, 20.25mm ID x 3.53mm Thick; A/C Line At Compressor) Used on a gazillion Ford vehicles from 1997 - 2008. Should be easy to find. Wow, a GT part that may...

    A/C Compressor

Dang! I knew you were going to ask that! LOL I can't be sure what the right part number is... but I DO know that it is nothing unique to the GT!! I have a part number written down here... but I'm not sure if the right one. 1F1Z19E889AB On the rare case where we've had AC compressors leak...

    A/C Compressor

Hmmmm... where is it leaking from? Frankly, I would seriously doubt that the compressor needs to be replaced. Rather, there are (2) o-rings that will age out and if you replace those, you should be good to go. (BTW, I think I have a new compressor if you should need one... but I don't think...

Looking for power steering hose 05/06 GT

Yes and yes. It's a BMW part number hose (I think the details are earlier in this thread) and it just needs a ~7" extension. <insert joke here> We do that with a brass barb and two clamps. Remember, it's just a return hose!

    Wheel Bearing Hub

That was a real head scratcher, but I think Tony nailed it. It was probable shortened to accommodate a wheel lock. Good one, Tony!

What to look for on 05-06 GT.....WTB

Yeah, of the things you listed, I'm not sure any of them are deal-killers given the right price; Delaminated steering wheel emblem - VERY common and easily fixable Paint bubbles on console - Something to check for; relatively rare; not easy to repair perfectly. Probably live with it. Small...

New Member looking for advice about parts for 05 GT

IMHO, battery does not need to be disconnected. The very miniscule amount of danger is from static electricity. Battery connected or not doesn't come into play. That said, no harm either to disconnect the battery and if it gives you piece of mind, all the better!

New Member looking for advice about parts for 05 GT

FYI - I think everyone who has commented here is just trying to be helpful. Many owners may not realize the inherent dangers of adding a stick-on button. Sounds like you do and you are OK with it... so that is cool too. While I'm not trying to convince you otherwise, I want to clarify the...

    GT 2005 transmission fluid leak

Edgard, while it might be nice to have the seals on-hand, in my experience it is doubtful that any of the seals will need to be replaced. What has happened to your GT is that the two bolts that secure the output flange t the transaxle output shaft have been compromised. They have wither broken...
