Chilling Sunday night and watching TV and had a crazy revelation.

Can you use superlite GTR part to repair/restore Ford GT?

They look very similar (side mirror, fiberglass hood and etc)

I've been thinking about the same thing (including headlights).

I have wondered the same thing.

Parts availability is becoming a problem for those of us not keeping museum piece/auction queen cars.

No so bad really. Clearly it’s not ideal. Some parts have become obsolete. But we always seem to find an answer
New GT’s are worse for getting parts
Plus the prices have skyrocketed

Its not like OEM ford gt parts are made out of carbon fibers. Its all plastic anyways (I bought one myself).

I'm not buying any more plastic trim parts. I figure 3D printing will be able to replace them. Clamshell vents? Print them as needed and paint to match. Or print them in any color you want. I think that in a couple years 3D printing in metal will be cheap enough to make some of those parts too.

The blue car on his page has alot of OEM parts.... Not parts made by rcr.. That car was H's car from robertson racing that rcr uses for advertisement

I would check with H Smith from H Craft Customs in Atlanta. Between maintaining the Robertson Racing cars and building many GT-R's, he should have a good feel for what could be used on an original GT. I know he used a lot of stock parts on his GT-R but also fabricated many himself. He also sold some of his parts to other GT-R owners. Additionally he had a lot of fiber parts built for Robertson Racing. I spoke with him about sourcing some for my car but never pulled the trigger.

I own a GT-R, the body is a wide body version from the Robertson Race car.
H is out of the GT-R game for a couple years, since he moved. He is building trick side by side stuff now.
let me know if you want any details or photos from my car, Jim

I got all of the tooling from H and the stuff he made for the GTR to make it more oem' ish Ford GT.. But again
H used a ton of oem parts on his build..
