Well we have been to Europe 6 times in the last 10 years, and the dedicated GPS, with a larger screen (this is a key detail), up on the windshield, in the field of view, really works for me.I think you just touched on the issue. Navigating thru Paris (France, not Illinois or Arkansas LOL) with a cell phone vs. actual GPS device. The at-times spotty service and the refresh rates on a cell were sometimes horrible, so unless you anticipated the traffic splits, you missed the necessary turns. Not fun in rush hour traffic. Perhaps a dedicated GPS is the answer.
