This was my first true car love. It was heavy, and not very fast for a 12 cylinder, but it is the only car I regret selling. I had a serious 8-series CSI jones and black was the only color for me. Seeing how good your black no stripe looks gives me fond memories of my first serious car pictured below. :cheers

Fact is, that BMW includes maintenance in their selling price at no additional cost or markup. Consider it a standard included feature.

I'll take this program over a 5 year powertrain warranty anyday...

>>>BMW Maintenance Program

For most luxury cars, maintenance is a hidden cost to consider. And when you compare maintenance programs, it's clear they're not all the same.

In fact, the BMW Maintenance Program is one of the most comprehensive programs in its class and it offers the longest coverage period.

They cover all factory-recommended maintenance at no charge for four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first, as well as items that need replacement due to regular wear and tear.

Your maintenance costs:

* Scheduled inspections: $0
* Brake Pads: $0
* Brake Rotors: $0
* Engine Belts: $0
* Oil Changes: $0
* Wiper Blade Inserts: $0
* Inspections: $0
* Fluid Services: $0

By offering such a comprehensive maintenance program with every new vehicle, they're able to help you manage the cost of ownership and keep maintenance costs down.

BMW residual values outperform cadillac residual values.

I've owned Pontiac, GM, Ford, VW, Land Rover, BMW, Jeep, Porsche...

If everyone liked the same cars, we'd all be driving the same thing.

Fortunately, we can all agree on the Ford GT as the best car, now and forever.

:thumbsup

In the luxury SUV category, the Porsche Cayenne wins as the most expensive to own and fix. And the X5 is nowhere on the list.

Not sure how a friendly post about my Ford GT getting a warm and wonderful foam bath turned into a blood bath between BMW and GM...

I know what you mean. I sold my 2001 e39 M5, so I could buy the Ford GT. I definitely don't regret the upgrade, but wish I could have kept the M5.

Sky, Syco, those two bimmers have always been high on my list. I love the E39 for all that it was and is, my brother in law has one so I get to experience it frequently. The 8 series was the car I drooled over for long distance driving. Pity I never experienced one for more than a few miles.

But back on topic, SYCO, while I'd like to get a foamer for my garage, when I see the words "Foam Bath" those certainly are NOT the pictures I expected from you!!! :biggrin

Well we are on our 3rd X5, 3rd X3 (my winter beater), and this spring got an E90 M3, no complaints on any of them. really NO issues with ANY of them. And the V8 at 8400 rpm is pretty cool.....

Love seeing the 850, and I also think the E39 M5 is a better looking car than the current.......

And Yes at least we can all agree that the FGT is "all good"....... and what is wrong with Kool Aide, My kids like it......

Is BMW hypocritical for marketing to gay clientele without extending worker benefits to the same?

Can BMW eat its cake and have it too?

That's the question Joe LaMuraglia is asking about the German automaker. The editor of Gaywheels.com questions how it is that the Bimmer-builders fail to offer same-sex benefits to employees, yet buys ads in gay-oriented publications such as OUT or The Advocate. This behavior stands in sharp contrast to such automakers like Subaru and Volvo, who offer same-sex benefits to their workers, as well as advertise in gay-oriented media.

LaMuraglia is quick to point out that he is not advocating a BMW boycott. He does, however, question why OUT and Advocate, would accept such funding while being fully aware of BMW's policies.

Shout out your opinion in Comments.

No. 1

1. Best Car for the Gay Professional
2006 BMW 5 Series Sedan

I was a skeptic when BMW unveiled a new style direction for arguably the best midsize sedan on the planet. However, as with all things forward-thinking, once a look and feel has been perfected, it's time to push the envelope again. This car embodies the essence of today's gay man.

No. 5

5. Best Twinkmobile
2006 Mini Cooper

The Mini Cooper is annoyingly small to some, but simply irresistible to others. The cult classic from the BMW group means fun for anyone who sits behind the wheel (and passengers too). The Mini may look tiny on the outside, but there is a surprising amount of depth on the inside. Thanks to it's great handling, fast engine and fun ride, the Mini Cooper is our Best Twinkmobile winner.

"Hard Top. Firm Bottom"

http://www.thetorquereport.com/2007/04/has_bmws_marketing_gone_too_fa.html

"Now to my point. This weekend as I drove through West Hollywood, CA, which is an area known for its large gay and lesbian population, I noticed a number of BMW BMW billboards that were posted around town. What caught my attention was the fact that the ads made references to a "top" and a "bottom", but not in a sexual way, but instead in terms of the new 2008 BMW 3-Series Hardtop Convertible.

One particular ad: "Hard Top. Firm Bottom. It's So L.A." is what caught the most attention. There are many ads that are geared towards the gay community, but the difference in this ad is the fact that it is going one step further. It is using gay sexual references to sell the car. "

such tight exterior dimensions, there's not a helluva lot of Cargo space - hmmmmm

The 3-Series is the darling of the gay community because it offers not just cachet, but a thrilling driving experience that makes car lovers out of everyday commuters. If you haven't driven a Three, you don't know what it means to be "dialed in."

One must wonder why Sam knows all about Gay things. He knows where they live, what they drive, where the Gay web sites are and what they eat. :banana I have a feeling the following paragraph explains it all...

Homophobia
Fear that one may actually be homosexual himself: Homosexuality is, by even the most conservative estimates, far more common than the number of open homosexuals would imply. And with the realization that bisexuality is actually fairly common, particularly among women, there is a genuine fear among the more conservative that they, themselves, may be homosexual, particularly if they have had a homosexual experience in their past which they actually enjoyed. And since surveys indicate that approximately 64% of adult males in the United States have, there are lots of candidates out there for that fear. Compounding this can be religion-based guilt, often promoted by televangelists who have made a career of promoting homophobia.

Sam...We will still be your friends. Come out of the closet and free yourself. Life is too short for you not to let the world know what it is you crave. :banana:banana:banana

BE FREE...
