Le Mans 2016 - June 18th and 19th, 2016

As part of our pre-run trip around Europe, Mr. Matech GT1 and I spent some time at Spa-Francorchamps. While discussing the events of 2016 with track personnel, they said there was a strong suggestion made to them about holding off from their usual scheduling because Le Mans was going to be moved to the third week in June.

When we left the track we were discussing why they would change the dates. I said "look up what the dates were of Le Mans in 1966, I can virtually guarantee they are moving it so there's at least the chance Ford could return to victory 50 years to the day..."

The dates for 2016 have officially now been announced. The race begins June 18th, 2016.

Once my wife saw the new GT in Dearborn she loved it. I couldn't believe it when she said we should go to LeMans next year! I recall some talk about organizing something, but can't find any reference to it other than this thread. Does anybody know anything about it?

Le Mans will be fantastic next year. If you've always wanted to see the Big Race and are a Ford fan, don't miss it. It's only 130 miles from Paris, which is a great selling point for most better halves.

"Hey, why don't you spend a couple days in Paris while I watch some boring race."
