so this is to bring some closure to the other post I started a while ago "you must be a redneck if you have half of your gt in you living room" as some may remember I had a lot of rock chips from rallyIII in vegas so the front came off so we could take it to the painters, The next pics are of the front end being dissasembled notice all the chips on the paint:ack

one of the things I never liked about the gt was everytime you want to put gas in the car you have to take the keys with you and well you know the rest I wanted to have an automatic release for the gas cap so we made one out of an automatic door lock opener, and we wired it up to the battery using a fused line and a little push button that we mounted to the inside of the fender where It can not be seen only felt once you reach between fender and the door, just make sure your passenger does not open the door while your pushing the button.:biggrin

its called 6800 miles of driving bliss:lol

ya the conditions in death valley were just that, death to the paint especially if you didnt have clear bra and I wasnt letting off, there was a lot of sand!!!!

no film on the windshield its not like the first day but not nearly as bad as the front of the car was its actually not that bad! need to look into the film in the future

Yes, I agree pe2unia and need a black one also.... That's the only item except for the start button that is not Silver or Black on my Tuxedo Edition FGT.

I would never have the balls to take my FGT apart like that for fear I would never get it put back together again.

I'm impressed. Nice work!

SEMA show plate flipper...anyone?

I was at the 2008 Sema show and there is a booth with the plate flipper.
I picked one up but I haven't decided to either put it on the Tacoma or the GT. Has anyone tried this idea yet?http://www.plateflipper.com/onlinestore.html

Also I thinking of having a switch in the car to kill the rear tail lights ,just in case I need to exit or maybe leave the area reallllllllllllllllllll fast.
