19 lb Whipple with HP/Shadowman Tune

The difference between a non-Whippled (pully/tune or not) & a 19 lb Whipple GT is unbelievable! Ask Stormcat as I gave him a ride in mine at Rally II. I gave Clinton a ride & he now has a Whipple. I gave Tim's kids rides at Rally II also & they state they want the Whipple too! Ripping power. And drivable. I haven't had any heat issues on the road & the same heat problems on the track before & after the Whipple.

Make sure you get the HP/Shadowman tune with the 19 lb Whipple & you won't be disappointed. I wish I could give you a ride as it would make a believer out of you.

Ed is being a little a modest. He also keeps a box of "Depends" handy for these little " test rides" he gives to the passenger.

You have me as good as convinced... :biggrin
Has anyone gone for the 21psi pulley??

PS: A black Whipple is gonna look good too on my girl...

And again - some HP numbers... PLEASE!!!

Here is an update worthy of sharing;

BlackIce had his gal on a dyno today spinning the Whipple to 19 PSI and put down 730HP at the rear wheels on good old California 91 octane at only 6400 RPM

He has the tune that we installed in Ed Simms gal however while on the dyno I called TonY G aka HP Performance and he worked directly with BlackIce and the dyno operater during which he made a couple personal touch tweaks specific to BlackIce's gal because she no cats at this time.

FYI: the A/F's were left extremly safe in the mid 11's and the timing was 19 degrees

I have had the pleasure of chatting with BlackIce many times and he has a very methodical fact based approach to everything that he has done to his gal; the conversations are always enjoyable. I suspect that he will share some of the cool tweaks that he has completed as he gets prepared for his time with her at Thunder Hill next week-end.

Master Torrie; indeed we have LOL

I hope that you are doing great. I was just chatting with TonY G and asked about you and he said that you are quickly becoming the Dodge Guru too. I am truly very happy for you. I also heard that another round of tweaking is soon to commence on your TT-GT; very cool.

Now as for the big thumbs up; it belongs with TonY G aka HP Performance in this case because he has remained the ultimate bit and byte master as we contiue to massgae these gals; I remain under his direction as I tweak, tweak, and data log the gals with the final "thumbs up or thumbs down" being TonY G's call. Speaking of data logs; I understand from TonY G that you likely have collected more real time GT data than any other person out there.

I am just happy to be able to work with an awesome group of owners as well as folks such as you Torrie and TonY G.

We will get to shake hands at Sema this year right Bill ? As for your statements in regard to Tony G your spot on man. He and I are both very lucky to be able to be immersed in work that is not at all like work to us but something we are both passionate about. Oh and yes I have had a laptop in my passenger seat then people. I have tons of TTGT data and as far as I know it have the only long term test bed out here. My car is driven and driven as it was intended with me grinning behind the wheel :)

I have been daily making headway with viper recalibration among other aspects of DCX tuning. It's been great !

Sorry I am not trying to hijack this thread I promise.

Whipple Dyno Graphs

Here are some graphs of two dyno pulls on the Whipple with a 19 psi pulley. Note that the boost went up to 21 psi with just the 19 psi pulley. The A/F ratios I logged were different than the dyno's A/F. We both were using Innovate sensors in the same location, mine was in the left bank, the dyno's in the right bank. Mine hasn't been calibrated for about 200 miles. The dyno shops, I have to ask him. Anyway my logged A/F via the Lc-1 and SCT-X2 were about 10.4 to 11.4 on the 1st run to 6000, and 11.1 to 11.7 on the second run to 6600 rpm. When I get some time I will recheck my calibration and ground offset to see if may values are suspect.

So if you are thinking pulley or Whipple just look at the dyno chart. After riding in, or driving a Whippled GT you won't be happy with just a pulley. Now if you want a Heffner TT instead, that I would understand.

A big thanks to TonY G and Shadowman for their help and support in getting the Whipple up and running. If you are thinking of a Whipple give TonY G a call. Remember you are buying more than just a Product, with TonY G you get 1st class product support as well!

Whoa - Cool #s Black Ice. I was 6 hp off of your highs but within the error margin they are equal. Rippin', snortin' power. American muscle that will rail corners & shorten straights like no other! I love it!

Congratulations!

Can you get any traction below 70mph now? More power is great but ive been there and done that in my C5. Right now, I love my GT because I can nail it at 50mph in 2nd gear and just go. Ive been pondering a Whipple purchase but been hesitant because of past experience with higher hp cars.

Cars equal or not I don't think I have the same skill level as you going around the track and even if I did, I don't have the Penskes, or slicks. I will be in your rear view mirror for only a short time as you quickly pull away.

That is the paradox of cars and traction. If you can't spin the tires you don't have enough power. If you spin the tires you have too much power. I don't have enough experience driving the Whipple yet, but can say it doesn't have enough power in 3rd to 6th, 2nd is maybe just right and in 1st you have more than enough.

You are very welcome as I know that TonY G aka HP Performance feels the same way as myself.

Once you get to know her and her sweet spots even the higher gears will make you smile

Takes care and be safe as you two exercise together

All the best

If those are at the wheels figures that's fantastic. You can never have too much power, just too much right foot!

Yeah you can't really go from past experience with cars and high HP to this platform. Been there many many times and know where your coming from but having the weight bias in the correct position and 'Hoosiers' makes this car just uncomparable. :biggrin
