What was the speed limit?

There is NO speed limit on the race track.

But then again we all know the car is faster than the driver!

A great time for all that were there. :thumbsup

Huge Thank You to roketMan for setting the bar for fun and safety very high.

Many thanks to Roketman Ron for being Track Day Master and of course Alex, Andy, Mark, Kip, and whoever else was instructing. Everyone did an awesome job making sure everything went smoothly and the track got rave reviews from the novices all the way to the track masters. The team at TWS did a really nice job as well, especially Misty at the pit in pit out controlling the action. Great corner workers and great supplied instructors. Even the lunch was good.

I had a blast in my own car even though I had been up for 30+ hours at that point, and took a great ride with Specracer. This car is just unreal with Hoosiers. His car is otherwise stock and it just blows me away how capable the car is with a simple change of tires. Amazing.

And a big congratulations to all 78 cars that chose to get numbered and hit the track. I think everyone learned a lot, had a ton of fun, and most importantly had a safe time on an incident free day! Well done all you new Ford GT track rats!

yeah, what DBK said.

78 cars on the track.....awesome.

A big thanks to Dave , Ron, all the instructors drivers and support staff. A great time was had by all !! :thumbsup

Yeah I don't believe you will find anyone to state otherwise.

Thanks Ron and Andy for making my day hammering my car around the track with me in the passenger seat.

I forgot to thank Kip Ewing ,Jeff and Tim for there help instructing.
Lets do it again next year !!
All in favor ,say I!

Guys - GREAT DAY! Thanks to all involved in setting this up, driving instructors, etc. What a blast!

And Rocketman, like I said at dinner, thanks for showing me the "GT ballet" at the Vegas track...it gave me something to strive for this year and I felt very good about my skills after your schooling last year and Jeff Boulais schooling this year.

Can't wait for the next track event!

Track Rat's

I was a bit concerned about the risks involved when attending a track we have never been to in the past. But it was easy to relax after making a few warm-up laps. Then standing back and taking in the track supplied staffs attitude.

First rate !

As a Track Rat, it was easy to see the proper mix of skill and passion.
Then add just the right amount easy going fun, and you have the track staff at Texas World.

Thinking we should send them a trophy of thanks. Just to let the TWS crew know, there skills did not go unnoticed.

Then we had the tracks road course layout.

It had a nice flowing rhythm. Seldom found at a Roval.

As well as an opportunity to use the FGT’s speed and torque.
Is quite uncommon for a place this size.

Add Challenging yet safe corners.

And you have what I feel is a diamond in the rough.

Nice find Guys.

I went for a ride in the passenger seat of Ron's gal with him and now I know why they call him ROKETMAN!!!!!!!!!!!!! WOW :eek:eek:eek he can drive!!!

THANK YOU RON

This was the first time I have been on the track so I had Mark McGowan as my instructor to guide me through all of the corners. THANK YOU MARK for your guidance as well as your quality instruction. What a great guy:thumbsup

I can say I am now a convert.

Thanks Guys

I was blessed. A few owners let me make a lap or 2 in there cars.
(In addition to showing a few students my view of the proper race line).

I can say I am now a convert.

Was never fond of the 3.9 diff gears.
And never driven a 4 liter blower car before.

Knew Fubar’s ride had Penske dampers. But never even looked at the rest of his mods.

He just handed me the keys.

All I can say, Dam what a ride !

The selection and execution of his aftermarket parts is perfect.
The power was seamless as well as a big step up from factory.
The gears were spot on for the track. And felt as if would be fine for the street.
(The spacing between ratios was not the short steps I was expecting)

Overall very easy and pleasant to drive while cruising.
And at the limit is one bad A$$ Ride.

His car is my new personal favorite

Nice work

Alex,
You say that to all the guys!

Well back home and it is 40 deg, blowing 40, and pouring rain and snow.

TWS was a hoot, and a VERY surprising track that was not only FUN, but also FAST technical, and very rewarding to drive. Hats off to everyone that made it safe, and showed the track the respect is deserved. The track did have a lot of run out, but if not driven with care, could bite.

Thanks to the all of GT family members that helped us, but also lets not also forget the NASA drivers that also helped us out.

And Yes Torrie, great to finally drive a turbo car! Amazing stuff!

Great stuff!!
